Privacy Policy

Sazona ("we", "us") is an AI-powered nutrition companion built for Latino communities. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain and short on purpose.

1. Information we collect

Account information

• Your name, email address, and authentication provider (Google, Apple, or email).
• Language and unit preferences, dietary goals, and cuisine preferences you share during onboarding.

Food photos and meals

• Photos you take with the Meal Scanner are stored in a private storage bucket accessible only to you.
• We keep the AI-generated analysis (dish name, ingredients, macros, cultural notes) associated with your account.

Usage data

• Basic device and browser information, pages visited, and errors, used to improve the app.

2. AI meal analysis

When you scan a meal, the photo and a short prompt are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini via the Lovable AI Gateway) for the sole purpose of returning an analysis. We do not sell your photos, and we do not use them to train third-party AI models beyond what is required to fulfill your request.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language, and preserve your preferences. We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand overall usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

4. Third-party services

• Authentication and database: Supabase (via Lovable Cloud).
• AI analysis: Google Gemini via the Lovable AI Gateway.
• Hosting and delivery: Lovable and its infrastructure providers.

Each provider has its own privacy practices. We only share the minimum data needed.

5. Your rights

• Access, correct, or delete your account and data at any time.
• Export a copy of your meals and preferences on request.
• Opt out of non-essential notifications from Settings.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, row-level security on our database, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfect, so we recommend using a strong password and enabling any available account protections.

7. Children

Sazona is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Medical disclaimer

Sazona provides general nutrition education, not medical advice. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above and, for meaningful changes, notify you in the app.
